Police seek information on Property offences in Alice Springs 31 August

Northern Territory Police responded to a number of property offences over a 72 hour period in Alice Springs.

Between 1:30am and 3:50am this morning, a business on Wilkinson Street in Ciccone was unlawfully entered with a number of items stolen along with two vehicles. A property was also unlawfully entered on Kilgariff Crescent in Sadadeen and a Toyota Prado was stolen. All three vehicles were later recovered.

Investigators from Strike Force Viper are continuing to investigate and at this stage it is not known if the two thefts are related.

These incidents come after a number of unlawful entries occurred yesterday morning around The Gap and Mount Johns.

Superintendent Anthony Deutrom said, “The past 72 hours has seen a number of opportunistic thefts occurring around our community. This sort of behaviour is unacceptable and Alice Springs residents can rest assured police are investigating and the offenders will be put before the courts.

“If anyone witnessed or has information relating to any of the offences reported, you are urged to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

These incidents also serve as a timely reminder to double check when you secure your property and to never leave keys in easy to access locations.”
