Police seek public assistance after Werribee car fire

Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a car fire in Werribee last month.

Emergency services responded to the fire on the service road at Synnot Street about 7.50pm on Tuesday, 24 May.

Police have confirmed the fire was deliberately lit and it is being treated as suspicious.

It is understood a man set fire to the driver’s seat and the rear seat, causing a large fire and significant damage to the vehicle.

There were no injuries.

Police are appealing for public assistance and have released images of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.
