Police seek witnesses – Disturbance in Darwin city

Police are calling for witnesses after a man was left unconscious outside a Darwin bar on Mitchell Street, shortly after midnight on Sunday.

At around 12:20am, a 31-year-old male was ejected from the venue by security staff, before allegedly becoming involved in an altercation.

The male sustained injuries rendering him unconscious, he was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Detective Acting Sergeant Ainsley Phipps said “we are particularly interested in speaking to any person who witnessed the male being escorted out of the premises or the incident at the side entrance”.

The male is described as being African American, with a shaved head, and was wearing a dark coloured short sleeved shirt and knee length denim shorts.
