Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to a stealing with violence incident that occurred in Malak last night.
At around 7:50pm, a 70-year-old woman was approached by an unknown Aboriginal man on Dalwood Crescent, near the intersection of Dalwood and Jarvis Street.
The pair have engaged in a brief struggle, before the man fled the scene on foot towards Patterson Street, with the woman’s handbag.
The woman was not injured and Police are following all lines of enquiry in an effort to identify the offender.
Senior Sergeant Michael Budge said, “Members of the community have the right to feel safe and this type of behaviour towards anyone, particularly this woman, is not acceptable.”
