Police seek witnesses to aggravated Robbery – Nightcliff 5 January

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses after an aggravated robbery in Nightcliff yesterday afternoon.

Just before 6pm, a 77-year-old male was approached by an unknown offender in the bathrooms at a licenced premises along Camphor Street in Nightcliff.

It is alleged the male brandished a 30cm knife from a tea towel and demanded money, before forcing and locking the victim into a cubicle.

The adult male offender fled the location with a large sum of money. He is described a man of Aboriginal appearance, with a buzz cut and facial hair. At the time of the offending, he was seen wearing a red and black jersey with a large distinctive spider on the front.

No injuries were reported.

Detectives from Serious Crime Squad are continuing the investigation.
