Police seek witnesses to aggravated robbery – Winnellie

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses after an aggravated robbery in Winnellie on 3 January 2024.

Between 10pm and 11:30pm, a food delivery driver arrived at a business premises along Raphael Drive to deliver food. Upon arrival, the alleged customer could not be located.

A further call to the alleged customer confirmed they would be at the location shortly, before appearing from nearby bushes.

After a brief altercation, it is alleged the offender brandished a pocketknife and demanded the victim to hand over the scooter before fleeing the scene on the scooter.

No injuries were reported.

The offender is described as an adult male with dark skin and dark hair. At the time of the offending, he was wearing a black cap with a red t-shirt and red shorts.

Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad are investigating the incident.
