Police seek witnesses to assault at Casuarina 14 April

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses after a disturbance on a bus last month.

At around 3:30pm on 30 March, Bus 9 was traveling from the Casuarina Bus Exchange to Palmerston.

An altercation occurred between an Aboriginal man in a green singlet and an Aboriginal woman in a pink shirt, resulting in the woman being pushed to the floor.

An Aboriginal male in a red-orange shirt then became involved, and the men left the bus at a stop in Karama.

A woman travelling on the bus was allegedly spat on by one of the offenders during the incident.

Senior Sergeant Greg Pusterla said, “Some passengers have come forward to provide information, however, the bus was quite crowded.

“Police are urging anyone who witnessed the alleged assaults on Bus 9 to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 9966246.

“This behaviour was completely unacceptable and police will continue to investigate.”
