Police seek witnesses to assault in Darwin 9 January

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses after an alleged assault in the Darwin CBD on New Year’s Day.

Around 4:20am on 1 January 2023, a woman was allegedly assaulted by an unknown offender in the vicinity of Searcy Street.

Police are requesting public assistance to identify a woman who was in the area at the time and may be able to assist police with enquires.

She is described as of Caucasian appearance, aged in her 20’s with shoulder length black hair. She was wearing a distinctive pink skirt with a black shirt and floral boots.

Detective Senior Sergeant Matt Akers said “This woman was not involved in the assault; however, we do believe she may have vital information that will assist with enquires.

“Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Please quote reference 10219908.”
