Police seek witnesses to Moe kidnapping

Latrobe Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses after a 40-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapping in Moe yesterday.

The female victim spoke to a man sitting in a parked silver Audi sedan in a car park on Albert Street about 11.45am on Saturday 23 October.

The man allegedly dragged the woman into the car and drove off.

He allegedly assaulted her at various locations around Moe, before stealing her wallet.

The Trafalgar woman managed to escape from the car and sought assistance from a man and woman walking a dog at the corner of Old Sale and Becks Bridge roads.

The woman was assessed by ambulance but did not require any further medical treatment.

Investigators arrested a 40-year-old man this morning who is currently assisting with their enquiries.

It’s alleged both parties are known to each other.

Detectives are particularly keen to speak to the dog walkers who assisted the victim.

Any witnesses, anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage of the incident or the Audi travelling through the area are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
