Police seek witnesses to police car rammed at Wollert

Mernda police are appealing for witnesses after a driver deliberately drove into a police vehicle last Saturday.

The incident took place at the intersection of Bridge Inn Road with Bindts Road when police flagged down a white Mitsubishi Magna sedan with no number plates just before 4.30pm.

While police were speaking to the driver of the Magna, he drove off, colliding with the side of the police car, before travelling east on Bridge Inn Road towards Mernda.

The driver is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 30s with a wispy beard and was wearing a ‘Raiders’ cap at the time.

Police believe the Magna is a 1999 – 2000 model and had a ‘Mulwala Water Ski Club’ sticker on the left rear passenger window.
