Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have taken over the investigation into the death of a man at Reedy Lake and are treating the incident as a hit-run.
The body of a man, who is yet to be formally identified, was discovered when he was struck by a car on the Murray Valley Highway at 2.18am on Friday, 19 August.
The driver, a 59-year-old Nyah West woman, stopped at the scene and notified authorities.
Investigators believe the man may have been struck by another vehicle earlier, which left the scene without stopping.
There is also the possibility that he was struck by a large vehicle whose driver was not aware what had occurred.
Detectives are trying to piece together the victim’s movements prior to his death and are keen to speak to anyone travelling in the area between 2am and 2.30am.
Anyone with dashcam footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.auExternal Link
