Police seek witnesses to Skye collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Skye on 7 September.

Emergency services we called to Ballarto Road, Skye following reports of a collision at about 9pm.

It’s alleged a white Ford Ranger which was stolen from an aggravated burglary in Somerville on 25 July, was travelling northbound on Westernport Highway before running a red light and hitting an oncoming vehicle.

Police believe two caucasian males from the Ranger fled on foot in the vicinity of Maraline road.

The 49-year-old female driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger had no injuries.

Police have released an image of a vehicle they believe may be able to assist with the investigation.
