Police investigating the dangerous driving of a stolen silver Range Rover in the outer northern suburbs of Brisbane this afternoon are appealing for witnesses and motorists with dashcam footage to contact them.
Police will allege that between 2 and 3pm the stolen 2016 silver Landrover Range Rover Sport, with Queensland registration UNO, was driven dangerously, and at high speeds, forcing motorists off the road, side swiping cars and causing one vehicle to crash and roll.
Around 2.20pm the Range Rover Sport drove through three rural properties on Carol Anne Crescent at Narangba damaging multiple fences.
Around 2.55pm whilst travelling southbound on Old Gympie Road, Narangba the Range Rover has overtaken a white Mitsubishi Triton resulting in the dual cab rolling. The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 64-year-old Margate man sustained minor injuries.
The silver Range Rover made its way to the Bruce Highway from Anzac Avenue, Kallangur, where it commenced travelling north. The SUV continued to drive dangerously and at excessive speeds, side swiping several vehicles.
Police pursued the Range Rover and intercepted it on the highway near Deception Bay Road, arresting the male driver and sole occupant, a 38-year-old Landsborough man, who is currently assisting with investigations.
At this time it is believed the Range Rover damaged 12 vehicles however this number may increase as motorists contact police.
It is believed the silver Range Rover Sport may have earlier been travelling in convoy with a white Volkswagen Amarok utility.
Detectives from the Peninsula Criminal Investigation Branch are appealing for motorists who witnessed these incidents, or anyone with dashcam vision capturing the movements of the silver Range Rover, to contact them (details below).
The Range Rover Sport was stolen from a Birtinya home overnight March 7 and 8. A black Porsche Macan was also stolen. This vehicle was located undamaged on March 10 at Bellara. A 27-year-old man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary and commit an indictable offence and receiving tainted property. He has been issued a Notice to Appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on April 22.
