Police have seized motorcycles and e-mobility devices across Moranbah following the introduction of licensing requirements for e-mobility device riders this month.
Since 1 September, Moranbah Police have seized six motorcycles, one electric power assisted cycles (EPACs) device, and one personal mobility device (PMDs).
Four people have been charged with 12 offences, including dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlicensed driving, and ride prohibited bike.
Officer in Charge of Moranbah Station, Senior Sergeant Adam Dyer, said police will continue to intercept dangerous riders and target unsafe behaviours on Moranbah’s roads.
“With the new requirements in effect, we’re urging all e-mobility riders and their caregivers to familiarise themselves with the operation of e-mobility devices and their responsibilities as road users,” said Senior Sergeant Dyer.
“Officers will continue taking enforcement action against riders doing the wrong thing.”
“We ask members of the Moranbah community to continue reporting instances of dangerous driving behaviours to police.”
