Police treating death suspicious in Buddina

A boy been arrested following an altercation with another boy known to him in Buddina last night (January 20).

At 11.20pm, emergency services were called to an area outside a Buddina home, in response to an altercation which had allegedly resulted in one person being seriously wounded.

On arrival, officers located a 16-year-old boy with a life-threatening-wound.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, the boy died at the scene.

A 17-year-old boy was immediately taken into custody and is assisting police with the circumstances surrounding the 16-year-old boy’s death.

Anyone who noticed any suspicious behaviour in the area at the time or who may have CCTV footage of the area is asked to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
