Police treating death suspicious in Coomera

Police are investigating the death of a man who was located at a Coomera residence at 11pm yesterday.

Officers were required to attend following reports of smoke coming from the address.

A crime scene has been established while inquiries are made into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

Police are awaiting results of an autopsy to determine cause of death and confirm the man’s identity.

A 38-year-old man is assisting police with inquiries while being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

He had been located at a Redland Bay address a short time after the Coomera incident and was transported to hospital for treatment.

Investigations are ongoing.
