Police treating fire as suspicious in Rockhampton, QLD

Detectives are investigating a suspicious house fire in Rockhampton early this morning.

Police were called to an address on Archer Street, near the intersection of Alma Street, at around 1:45am following reports of smoke coming from a home.

Emergency services attended the fire however the house received significant damage to the structure and roof.

The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

A crime scene has been declared with fire investigators and forensic officers expected to commence investigations today.

Anyone with CCTV or dash cam vision from the area last night is urged to contact police.
