Police treating house fire as suspicious at Smithfield Plains, South Australia

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at Smithfield Plains this morning.

About 1.45am on Saturday 9 July, police and MFS were called to Scott Road following calls that a home was on fire.

The house was fully engulfed in flames when patrols arrived and fire crews worked to bring the blaze under control which caused extensive damage to the front of the premises.

A woman residing at the home sustained minor burns to her hands and was also treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

An adjoining house sustained smoke damage.

Fire Cause Investigators are currently at the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
