Police update 1: Charges, homicide investigationin Brisbane City

Detectives have charged two teenagers following the death of a 16-year-old boy in Brisbane City on Thursday night (April 8).

Police today executed two separate search warrants in Brisbane’s North and subsequently arrested two teenage boys at both addresses.

A 16-year-old Mango Hill boy has been charged with one count of murder and a 17-year-old Wooloowin boy has been charged with one count of accessory after the fact to murder.

Both teenagers have been denied police bail and remanded in custody to appear in the Brisbane Children’s Court.

Police will allege that around 8pm on April 8 an altercation occurred between two 16-year-old boys, which resulted in one of the teens sustaining a fatal stomach wound.

Police will also allege the pair were known to each other.

Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming, Regional Crime and Intelligence Coordinator, Brisbane Region said the investigation is ongoing and continued to appeal for public information (contact details below).

“Detectives and specialist police have worked tirelessly since the alleged murder and it is through their efforts that the two teenagers are now facing court.”
