Police update 1: Shooting incident at Bray Park

A man has been shot by police after officers were called to a domestic violence incident at Bray Park, north of Brisbane, this afternoon.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 12:30pm, officers were called to the Burkell Court address following reports of a man attempting to harm a woman known to him.

Upon arrival, it will be alleged officers observed a 37-year-old woman who had sustained injuries.

Officers then attempted to engage with a 45-year-old man who threatened to stab Police.

It will be alleged police shot the man after he advanced at officers and threatened to stab them.

Immediate first aid, including CPR, was provided.

The 45-year-old man was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

A crime scene has been declared at the address, and police investigations are continuing.

This matter is under investigation by Ethical Standards Command, with the investigation subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
