Police update 1: Stolen vehicle arrests, Ipswich District

Police have charged two teenagers after a stolen Mercedes Benz sedan was allegedly driven at high speed between Ipswich and Brisbane yesterday morning.

Polair commenced a track of the white sedan bearing false number plates after it was observed in the Redbank area just after 9am.

Around 11.40am, the vehicle was abandoned in an underground car park at a Collingwood Road shopping centre at Redbank, where police located two boys, both aged 16, arresting the pair.

A 16-year-old Redbank Plains boy was charged with five counts each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, stealing, two counts of robbery in company, and one charge each of receiving tainted property, unlawful enter of a vehicle, attempted robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm, armed robbery, driving unlicenced, burglary, enter premises, evade police.

A 16-year-old Raceview boy was charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and one charge each of attempted enter with intent, stealing, possess dangerous drugs, possess knife in public place.

They were both denied police bail and are due to face Richlands Childrens Court.
