Police update 1: Woundings at Fortitude Valley, QLD

Detectives have charged a 17-year-old Bundamba boy after a man was allegedly stabbed at Fortitude Valley just after 3.20am today.

It will be alleged the boy was with four men when they confronted a 21-year-old Rothwell man on Constance Street.

One of the men stabbed the 21-year-old in the abdomen and the 17-year-old boy stole the man’s gold necklace.

Investigations are continuing in relation to two other linked wounding incidents that occurred around the same time in the Constance, Ann and Wickham Streets area.

Detectives are viewing recorded vision of the area and are appealing for the men involved to surrender to police.

The 17-year-old Bundamba boy has been charged with one count each of robbery with violence, grievous bodily harm and stealing. He will appear in the Brisbane Childrens Court tomorrow, July 3.

The 21-year-old Rothwell victim was transported to hospital were he remains in a stable condition.
