Police update 2: Logan disturbance – two further arrests

Police have this afternoon charged a 22-year-old Coomera man with affray over his alleged involvement in a disturbance at a shopping centre at Loganholme on Monday, February 4.

It is alleged that around 4.45pm, a 27-year-old man, armed with a machete, was shot in the leg and a steel grate was smashed through the windscreen of a silver SUV.

On February 6, the 27-year-old man was charged with going armed to cause fear and wilful damage, relating the removal of a GPS tracking ankle bracelet.

Following the execution of search warrants on February 8, eight members of the Logan Rebels OMCG were further arrested and charged with offences including acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm whilst a participant of a criminal organisation and affray.

On February 12, a 32-year-old Calamvale man, the alleged President of the Logan Rebels OMCG, was charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm whilst a participant in a criminal organisation, affray and habitually consorting.

Last night, a 21-year-old Broadbeach man was arrested and charged with one count of affray and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs. He appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court earlier today.

The 22-year-old Coomera (a Rebels associate) arrested this morning was bailed to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on May 7, 2019.

Investigations remain ongoing with further charges expected.
