Police update 3: Homicide in Surfers Paradise, QLD

Police have charged a teenage boy following a fatal stabbing in Surfers Paradise last night.

A 15-year-old Waterford boy has been charged with murder and acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

The incident occurred around 8.10pm last night on Surfers Paradise Boulevard, when two groups of people became involved in an altercation.

During the altercation, two 17-year-old boys from one group, were stabbed in the chest.

Both were transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital where a 17-year-old boy from Parkwood passed away.

A 17-year-old Pacific Pines boy received treatment for stab wounds to his chest and back.

The 15-year-old Waterford boy is due to appear in Beenleigh Childrens Court on December 16.
