Police update: A man and a boy charged over armed robberies at Waterford West, QLD

Detectives from the Logan District Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have charged a man and a boy in connection to four armed robberies at two different pizza stores at Waterford West since September 1, 2019.

It is alleged around 10.22pm on September 1 a man armed with a knife has robbed a pizza store on Kingston Road. This same pizza store was again robbed at 10.20pm on September 9 where two men both armed with knives, entered the store and made demands for money.

At 10.20pm on September 5 it is alleged two men armed with knives entered a different pizza store on Kingston Road and made demands for money. This same pizza store was again robbed around 9.50pm on September 13 by three men armed with knives.

An 18-year-old man from Waterford West has been charged with four counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery in company. He is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

A 15-year-old boy also from Waterford West has been charged with three counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery in company. He will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Investigations are ongoing.
