Police update: Armed robbery in Southport, QLD

Police have charged a man after a woman was threatened with a knife and had her car stolen from outside of a hospital on Friday night.

It will be alleged at around 8.45pm, the woman was parking her car when a man approached the passenger side.

He then allegedly produced a knife, told the woman to get out and stole her Subaru.

The 49-year-old woman was not physically injured during the incident.

Ongoing investigations by police led to the recovery of the woman’s vehicle and arrest of a 32-year-old Pacific Pines man.

He was charged with armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts of wilful damage and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow morning (July 15).
