Police Update: Arrests – Disturbance – Yuendumu

Strike Force Viper has arrested 10 people in relation to unrest that occurred in Yuendumu at the end of last month.

Police officers from the Yuendumu Police Station have been conducting investigations in relation to the unrest which is believed to be linked to a death in the Laramba community in December 2025.

On 8 and 9 July 2026, Strike Force Viper officers located and arrested a 39-year-old male and nine females aged 19, 19, 25, 27, 32, 33, 34, 38 and 39. All offenders were charged in relation to the unrest and refused police bail to appear before court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Glenn Bolger said, “This type of behaviour will not be tolerated and those responsible will be held accountable for their actions.

“I commend the excellent collaborative policing work by all involved.”
