Police update: Attempted armed robbery charge at Capalaba, QLD

Brisbane detectives have arrested and charged a man following an alleged attempted armed robbery on Friday March 4, at Capalaba.

Around 5pm a man returned to his car in a hardware carpark on Pittwin Road.

It will be alleged two men approached the vehicle armed with what appeared to be a firearm. The men allegedly threatened the man and attempted to enter his vehicle however he locked the doors.

The two men fled the scene empty handed. No one was injured during the incident.

A 33-year-old has been charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of a weapon (replica).

The Stafford man is due to appear in Cleveland Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are ongoing.
