Detectives from Caboolture have arrested and charged a 22-year-old man with the attempted murder of a 52-year-old woman at Morayfield last year.
The charge relates to an alleged incident that took place on November 6, 2019 when at 10pm six people were seen attending a Hargrave Street address in two vehicles.
During this time police allege a man has knocked on the front door of the victim’s residence and when the occupant attended the door, she was shot in the face causing serious head injuries which required surgery.
Investigators believe the shooting was a case of mistaken identity in that the wrong address was targeted by the alleged offenders.
After extensive investigations police arrested the man today at Upper Caboolture and charged him with attempted murder and attempting to enter a dwelling with intent.
The man will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on April 4.
Additionally, police also charged a 23-year-old Beachmere man with drug trafficking. The man will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on April 4.
Police continue to appeal for the other people who attended the address in the two cars to assist with investigations.
Members of the community who have knowledge of the incident and of anyone involved are also urged to contact police to assist with the ongoing investigation.
