Police update: Break and enter at Charters Towers

Police have recovered a stolen motorbike at the centre of a ram raid which occurred at Charters Towers last Thursday.

Following information provided by members of the community, Detectives from Charters Towers executed a search warrant this afternoon at a Millchester residence where they located the motorbike as well as a quad bike allegedly used in the offence.

Around 1.10am on May a man on a quad bike rammed the front door of a Mary Street business while a second person went inside and stole the 2018 Yamaha YZ450.

Both vehicles were spotted by police on Saturday, May 11, around 2.30am on Millchester Road however, when the riders saw officers, they fled along a dirt track.

Police are now searching for two men aged between 18 and 26 who may be able to assist with inquiries.

Anyone with further information is urged to come forward.
