Police update: Break and enter at Robina, QLD

Police have charged a man following the break and enter of a car dealership at Robina overnight.

It will be alleged that around 10.05pm, a man attempted to break into a car dealership on Brabham Circuit but was unsuccessful.

It will be further alleged that around 10.15pm, the man forced entry to a nearby car dealership on Scottsdale Drive.

Around 12.40am, the man allegedly stole a white Mercedes Benz GLE and drove it through the showroom where he collided with a black Mercedes Benz AMG coupe, grey Mercedes Benz Roadster coupe, a desk and the glass shop-front.

The man then allegedly attempted to run over a security bollard onto Brabham Circuit which disabled the GLE, before he fled the scene on foot.

Subsequent investigations lead police to Palm Beach this afternoon where a man was arrested.

A 29-year-old Elanora man has now been charged with one count each of attempted enter premises, enter premises, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and wilful damage.

He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow (November 19).
