Northern Territory Police have charged a female driver following a fatal crash in Ludmilla in August 2023.
Yesterday, detectives from Major Crash Investigation Unit served the 25-year-old female with a Notice to Appear for driving unlicensed.
Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said “The investigation undertaken to date has confirmed both pedestrians crossing Bagot Road were intoxicated and failed to give way to approaching vehicles.
“Notwithstanding this, police will allege the driver was not abiding by her licence conditions. Further investigation and forensic crash analysis by Major Crash detectives, in consultation with the Director of Public Prosecutions, will determine whether additional charges are laid against the driver.”
The driver is due to appear in Darwin Local Court on 10 January 2024.
