Police update: Charges – Threatening Behaviour – Berrimah

Northern Territory Police have charged a 50-year-old man with firearms offences in Berrimah.

The man was arrested last Thursday and has since been charged by detectives from Serious Crime with:

  • Assault – threaten with firearm
  • Possess, use firearm whilst unlicensed
  • Possess firearm with altered ID marks
  • Possess ammunition without permit
  • Fail to meet storage requirements
  • Unregistered firearm

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on 18 July 2022.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said, “The quick arrest and subsequent retrieval of the illegal firearm was the result of collaborative efforts from a number of police branches including general duties, Dog Squad and Serious Crime.

“NT Police will continue to target those who possess any type of prohibited weapon.”
