Police update: Fatal crash at Strathdickie, QLD

Queensland Police have charged a 43-year-old Proserpine woman following an alleged fatal traffic crash at Strathdickie, southwest of Airlie Beach, on August 20.

It will be alleged at approximately 6.10pm, a utility was travelling east along Strathdickie Road near Staniland Drive when it crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided with a station wagon.

The driver and sole occupant of the station wagon, a 67-year-old Dingo Beach man, died at the scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the utility, a 43-year-old Proserpine woman, was transported to the Townsville University Hospital for treatment.

Following investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit, the 43-year-old has since been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance.

She is due to appear at Proserpine Magistrates Court on November 27.
