Police update: Fatal traffic crash in Storm King, QLD

Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit have charged a 39-year-old Deebing Heights man with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and driving under the influence over the middle limit.

He is due to appear in the Stanthorpe Magistrates Court on December 15.

Fatal traffic crash, Storm King

One woman has died and another has sustained serious injuries following a single vehicle crash in Storm King last night.

Preliminary inquiries indicate around 11.15pm a Toyota SUV was travelling westbound on Somerville Road when it veered from the road, struck a tree and rolled onto its side. Five people were in the car at the time of the incident.

Police and emergency services attended however a 46-year-old Pine Mountain woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was declared deceased at the scene.

A second passenger, a 38-year Deebing Heights woman, was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious injuries.

Two 38-year-old men and one 46-year-old man were treated for minor injuries.
