Police Update: Grievous Bodily Harm At Ipswich

Police have charged a 14-year-old boy following investigations into the alleged grievous bodily harm of a 37-year-old Springfield Lakes man last week.

Around 3.40am on March 27, Ipswich detectives will allege a 14-year-old Springfield Lakes boy punched and kicked the victim at a location along Springfield Lakes Boulevard.

The 37-year-old Springfield Lakes man was transported to the hospital with face, head, and upper torso injuries, where he remains in a serious condition.

As a result of a public assistance appeal, a 14-year-old Springfield Lakes boy was charged with one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, personal violence, and deprivation of liberty.

He will appear in Ipswich Childrens Court today, April 4.

Police are appealing for anyone with information or CCTV or dash cam footage from this area between 11pm on Tuesday, March 26, and 6am on Wednesday, March 27, to come forward.

The investigation is ongoing.
