Police update: Grievous bodily harm charge at Chinchilla

Detectives from Dalby have upgraded charges against a 21-year-old Chinchilla man to unlawful striking causing death, after a 45-year-old man who was allegedly struck during an attack on November 22 passed away from his injuries.

Police will allege the pair were involved in an altercation on Wambo Street at 9pm on Wednesday November 22, when the 45-year-old Chinchilla man was struck in the head.

He was subsequently flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, however succumbed to his injuries on Monday, November 27.

The 21-year-old will remain in custody to re-appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court on January 23, 2024, where he will have his charges upgraded.
