Police update: Homicide at Hervey Bay

A man has been charged with murder, common assault and drug related offences after a 57-year-old man died at Booral overnight.

Around 9.30pm a 57-year-old man was at a residence at Booral when two men attended the house.

The men are all known to each other and an altercation occurred during which the man received serious head injuries and died at the scene.

The 54-year-old Torquay man has been charged with one count each of murder, common assault, producing dangerous drugs, supplying dangerous drugs and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime.

He is due to appear in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court this afternoon.

A 46-year-old Point Vernon man has also been charged with producing dangerous drugs and is due to appear in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on October 8.
