Police update: Homicide at Surfers Paradise, QLD

Two men have been charged with murder following the stabbing death of a man at Surfers Paradise overnight.

It will be alleged around 9pm a 27-year-old man was involved in an altercation with a number of men that are known to him on Cavill Avenue near Orchid Avenue.

The man received a stab wound to the torso and was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital however he died a short time later.

Police located the two men nearby.

A 21-year-old Tinana man and an 18-year-old Pimpama man have both been charged with one count of murder and three counts of assault.

They will both appear at the Southport Magistrates Court this morning.
