Edmonton Criminal Investigation Branch detectives have this afternoon charged a man with murder following the sudden death of a man in White Rock overnight.
Investigators will allege the 66-year-old Cairns North man stabbed the victim, a 57-year-old White Rock man several times at a Hollywood Boulevard address following a verbal dispute.
The victim passed away from his injuries at the scene.
Police took the man into custody without incident and he was charged with one count of murder just after 4pm at the Cairns Police Station.
His bail has been denied ahead of his appearance in the Cairns Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Police continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information which could assist investigations to come forward. Anonymous reports can be made.
