Police update: PSPA revoked in Bloomsbury, QLD

Update: Police have revoked the PSPA declared in Bloomsbury, following a serious truck crash yesterday, February 13.

The PSPA was declared around 11.30am following reports a truck had rolled and was leaking a toxic substance.

The PSPA was revoked at 2.22pm today, February 14, however the Bruce Highway remains closed while repair works are undertaken.

Traffic diversions remain in place.

Any evacuated residents who are able to access their homes are safe to return.

Earlier: Queensland Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in relation to a truck crash in Bloomsbury, just south of Proserpine, this morning.

Around 11.30am, emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway near Caping Road, following reports a truck had rolled and was leaking a toxic substance.

An exclusion zone was established with a five-kilometre radius.

Traffic is being diverted at Kunipipi Road for southbound traffic and Midge Point Road for northbound traffic.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area or expect significant delays.
