Police update: Serious assault in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested and charged a third man in relation to a serious assault incident in Alice Springs earlier this month.

On Friday 4 September it will be alleged the man along with two others, detained and severely assaulted a 43-year-old man before abandoning him in a drive way of an East Side home.

The victim was found by two members of the public in the early hours of the morning on Saturday 5 September and transported to the Alice Springs Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad in Darwin yesterday arrested and charged a 29-year-old man with one count each of Deprivation of Liberty and Intend to cause serious harm to person.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before the Darwin Local Court on 29 September, 2020.

Earlier this month, two men aged 29 and 34-years-old were arrested in Alice Springs and charged with one count each of Deprivation of Liberty and Intentionally cause serious harm.
