Police update: Serious assault in West End, QLD

Detectives have charged two men in relation to the alleged serious assault of two other men that occurred in West End last weekend.

Initial investigations indicate shortly before 11.30pm on September 16, a group of people known to each other became involved in an altercation along Jane Street. 

A man in his 20s sustained multiple wounds and was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition.

A second man in his 20s sustained a wound to his leg and was transported to Princess Alexandra hospital in a stable condition.

A third person left the scene prior to the arrival of emergency services.

A 26-year-old man from Annerley has been charged with attempted murder and assault. He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

A 20-year-old man from Inala has already been charged with attempted murder. He appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court yesterday and is due to reappear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 16.
