A 31-year-old man injured during an assault at Capricornia Correctional Centre yesterday, has died as a result of his injuries.
He was transported to Rockhampton Hospital, where this afternoon he passed away.
Corrective Services Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death with assistance from Homicide Investigation Unit and Regional Investigators.
