Police update: Witnesses sought to fatal boating incident at Swan Reach, South Australia

Riverland Police investigating a fatal boat collision last month are seeking any witnesses that were in the Swan Reach area on the day of the incident.

Just before 10pm on Friday 22 February, two boats allegedly collided on the River Murray about 10kms upstream from Swan Reach.

Two men received serious injuries and were airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, sadly one of the men, a 37-year-old man from Gawler South died in hospital.

On Sunday 24 February, police investigating the crash arrested and charged a 39-year-old man from Williamstown with cause death by dangerous driving, cause harm by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.

Police Investigators are now seeking any witnesses to the incident including campers or other boat operators that may have been in the Swan Reach area on Friday 22 February and may have seen either of the boats during the day before the incident, to please contact investigators via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at https://crimestopperssa.com.au
