Police update: Wounding at Biggera Waters, QLD

Two men have been charged in relation to an incident at Biggera Waters over the weekend where it is alleged two people were stabbed and accelerant thrown at a house.

Around 4.30am yesterday it is alleged two men have attended a Marine Parade residence and thrown accelerant at the front glass door.

Several people who were inside the unit have come out onto the footpath and an altercation has occurred.

During the altercation a 22-year-old Redland Bay man received four stab wounds to his abdomen and chest. A 42-year-old Redland Bay man received two small stabs wounds to his face and one to his left torso.

Both men self-presented at the Gold Coast University Hospital yesterday.

A 26-year-old man from Upper Coomera has been charged with two counts of wounding.

A 42-year-old man from Redland Bay has been charged with attempted arson and dangerous conduct with a weapon.

Both men are due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.

Police investigations are ongoing.

All involved are known to each other.
