Police update: Wounding, Helensvale 25 August

Detectives have charged two people following the alleged wounding of a man at Helensvale this morning.

Around 7.45am police were called to a Millaroo Drive shopping centre following reports of a disturbance during which the male security guard sustained a number of stab wounds.

Those involved fled the scene in a stolen black Holden Trax.

Police tracked the vehicle which was intercepted at Distillery Road at Beenleigh around 8.35am with four people taken into custody.

The security guard has been transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition where he remains.

It will be further alleged the Holden Trax was stolen on August 24 after three males assaulted a woman and stole her keys in a business carpark on Mount Warren Boulevard at Mount Warren.

A 19-year-old Oxenford man has been charged with on count each of attempted murder, robbery with violence, attempt to enter premises and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, August 26.

A 13-year-old Upper Coomera girl has been charged with attempted murder and will appear at Southport Childrens Court tomorrow, August 26.

Further suspects are expected to be charged over the coming days.
