Pool to re-open Friday

Orange Aquatic Centre will likely re-open tomorrow (Friday) morning.
Staff are working to bring the chlorine in the water back to safe levels for swimming after staff increased the dosage yesterday.
NSW Health notified Council yesterday, two people who had cryptosporidium had been at the centre February 8. Cryptosporidium can incubate for 14 days.
Cryptosporidium is a parasite which can cause diarrhea and vomiting.
Orange Aquatic Centre has high standards for daily health and safety protocols.
As a precaution the centre ‘super chlorinated’ the water and conducted a “deep clean” of every surface in the centre.
It’s for this reason, if you or your child has had diarrhoea, you must not come to the centre for 14 days after the last episode of diarrhoea.
Thank you all for your support while we work to get the centre open again.
