The Tasmanian Liberal Government is a strong supporter of our start-up community, and an exciting new partnership between Aurora Energy and Enterprize Tasmania, our State’s leading start-up support organisation, will power up our local community of entrepreneurs.
Minister for Science and Technology, Michael Ferguson said, “Aurora’s $245,000 funding injection will build on our existing support to help Enterprize expand its services and reach across a range of entrepreneurial, start-up and micro business support programs in Tasmania.
“We remain passionate about the talent and potential of our people, and Tasmania’s future as an innovative State.”
Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction, Guy Barnett also welcomed the partnership.
“Enterprize’s ongoing growth and activity, and its successful development of startup programs hasn’t gone unnoticed with Aurora Energy committing today to help establish a partnership with Enterprize.”
“Building on this new partnership, Aurora Energy staff will also lend expertise through a dedicated Start-up Mentor Program, which will facilitate professional development across the business and leverage Tasmania’s national leadership in renewable energy creation,” Minister Barnett said.
Today’s announcement builds on our $1.34 million investment in the 2021-22 Tasmanian Budget, which secures the future of the Enterprize hubs in Hobart and Launceston, as well as the creation of a new satellite hub for the North West Coast.
Through a partnership with the Cradle Coast Authority, the North West hub will provide program and event outreach into places like Burnie, Devonport and Ulverstone for the first time.
This will help our communities to turn their concepts into real-world products and services, solve problems relevant to Tasmania, boost our economy and grow even more local jobs.
