Elise Archer,Attorney-General

Minister for Corrections and Rehabilitation

Congratulations to Rebecca Devine, a probation officer with Community Corrections, who has today been awarded the Australian Corrections Medal by Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania.

The Australian Corrections Medal was established in 2017 as an annual award presented as part of the Australia Day Honours. The award recognises distinguished service by a member of an Australian state or territory adult correctional service.

Throughout her 25 years at Community Corrections, Ms Devine has undertaken her role with a tireless and passionate dedication to offender rehabilitation and community safety.

Over the years, Ms Devine has consistently demonstrated her ability to place the long-term outcomes of increased community safety and reduced rates of reoffending over and above the challenges of working with, at times, resistant and complex high-risk clients.

Ms Devine is held in high regard by her colleagues, offenders and external service providers for her commitment to improving each offender’s quality of life so they can successfully rehabilitate and reach their full potential.
